king stitt = count sticky?

is count sticky another name used by king stitt or is it a different person?

i have this 45 'king stitt' 'bongo nyah' on randy's now i found there is another release 'count sticky' 'dread lock' which is actually the same tune.

can anybody shed some light on this?

not 100% sure but 99% that they are not the same person. king stitt was a very unique personality not to mention "look" and i believe there are photos of count sticky around somewhere and its most def not stitt.

a mislabeled record or appropriated song is a lot more likely

Count Sticky and King Stitt are definitely different people.

The single you most likely have is this one which is Little Roy and then County Sticky with the Matadors on the flip. King Stitt never had any releases on Randy's that I'm aware of.

yep this is exactly the 45 i have and somebody has written "king stitt" over it so i thought it was really him. it also sounds like him to me to be honest. i had never heard of a count sticky yet. any other releases by him?

do a search on youtube for count sticky and you will find a bunch. for instance, from a modern reissue:

also I made it sound like king stitt was deceased in what I wrote above...as far as I know he is alive and still hanging out at studio one in Kingston
