Not sure -- but I think it means, to be held in bondage, slavery.

well a jinnal is a one who take ones for fool.
so a jinnal ship would be where your led to beleive this next country you go to is paved with gold or sumpn.then when you on there you finding yourself with lash on your back and dying of malnutrition etc.

According to the Dictionary of Jamaican English (Cassidy & Le Page):

Ginal (or Jinal) - A clever, crafty or tricky person. A crook (there are overtones with obeah, i.e. black magic).

And Max Romeo gives his explanation of the word 'ginalship' hlafway through this interview:
