I does indeed, a well made, dedicated project. Will be interesting to see the final edit, since a long time project like that should have changed the way the makers see the subject. There's a good few subjects in there, what grabbed me most is capturing the ever day, talking to the girl singer etc. Not a side a lot of show's manage to present well, but these guys look to have more dedication and better relations with the subjects.

Forward up news when you can, and those who can support, try and do so.

Alborosie gets respect down there because of his hard and serious work.Read some interviews and you'll find out what he says makes perfect sense.Unfortunately you can't say the same about 90% of reggae artists worldwide.

+1 Rootsman. Whose cultural identity? I understand singing in patois, fake or otherwise (just like the Rolling Stones and many others sang in an American style), but I don't get them talking in patois at all. I thought that was for 14 year olds? Grow up and be who you are. I know the pair of artists work hard and all that, but it doesn't move me at all.

That said, I liked the way that Alborosie tried to turn around questions and points of view in what he had to say - what would the world look like without water dividing the countries?

It feeled indeed a bit strange that he's talking patois, but I haven't got no problem with it, he's just trying to blend in. Everyone changes the way they speak when they get in longterm-contact with other accents. Some just add some words to their vocabulary, others will adapt even more. Don't deny it, you have done it
Btw. Alborosie isn't british, so I guess he's easier influenced by other english accent, since it's not his primary language. Even more when he's singing in this accent so many hours a day.
Imho, he's one of the greater reggae artists of this time

**** synopsis- seems like 2 rich, nice but dim, europeans who want to be jamaican making a film about 2 rich, nice but dim, europeans who want to be Jamaican. I'm all for self expression, but don't these people have friends who could have a word? Or, if not, a mirror to see themselves in?

it's the whole talking in patois thing I don't understand - loads of people talk with the accent of the area they were brought up in - London, Leeds...whatever - but then raggamuffin it up on the mic - fair enough, you're adopting a persona to entertain, if eek-a-mouse can do all that bang-diddy-bong stuff and still sound good anything goes

as this movie is about spirituality and identity search by two european artists in jamaica, language might be an issue talked about aswell. just a guess though.
