It's on "Oldies But Goodies" volume 2.

I have it but the pressing(yellow and red US one) is terrible, the tunes sound like they were recorded next door and the vocals are "muffled".

Probably long deleted now but 'There's A Reward' is on the UK pressed Grounation LP 'Life Of Contradiction'.

This time the fabled and often misused description is on spot. It really sounds like you'd be listening to a private turntable session recorded with microphone.

I just heard a soft-erotica cover of "there's a reward for me" done by none other than "Freddie McGregor", man this is the sound of the eighties

JB - I note your note about track 4 on 'Life of contradiction', but it's not the accoustic version requested, track 4 is a studio / full band recording.

BMD - Another cut is on the 'Family' LP, but again not an accoustic one & yes, you missed the boat on the spare copy of that one. I'll record it for you when I get my TT back.

A note on the macola version of Life of Contradiction, while the versions are nice, the sound is quite crap, it has a muffled overall quality! But the tracks are good.

A great Joe Higgs page is http://www.iration.com/joehiggs/

Doing a search on "There's A Reward" on the discography page, you'll notice that it is on "Life Of Contadiction" (1975), "Family" (1988) and also released as a Studio One single 1964.

Life Of Contradiction - one of my big favourites. Contains some of the greatest songs ever recorded in Jamaica - The Song My Enemy Sings among others. A winner!
