Funny Man and The Boys anyone?

Postby nickbug » Mon Jan 10, 2005 12:58 pm

Apologies if I've raised this before and forgotten. Only Suffering by Funny Man and the Boys. Read somewhere that a number of people thought it was Toots singing on this. Can see why but pretty certain it isn't and Toots has apparently said it wasn't him.
Really would love to find out if anyone knows who it was and if anything else was recorded under this name?

I always thought the intro. to The Versatiles' 'Children get ready' was very Maytals-esque.

I read somewhere that the song is recorded by Horance Grant & The Playboys in 1965. The song title is "I Am Suffering".
A Dutchess single with "Mad World" by Baba Brooks on the other side.
Since I don't have that record myself I can not confirm this.
