ARTIBELLA - phil pratt cut - is there a dub version?

i think ive already asked before on the old board..(no replies tho)
apart from bobby kalphats version "raw roots" / "roots raw", big youths "keep your dread" are there any more versions of this exact riddim (i.e. not jr byles fever etc) .. is there a dub to this tune anywhere? thanks.

The double sided white label 'Artibella' (SS 004 A / B) had a good straightforward version side that was later replaced on the next repress with 'Artibella' / 'Raw Roots' (SS 20 A / B).

No dub (on 7") as far as I know.

Maybe an LP cut somewhere?

Not a dub version, but there's another vocal version of this cut.
I don't have the name of the artist nor the tittle of the song but parts of the lyrics are:
"Don't give away your rights my friend (...)
'Cause now is Rasta's Time
(...)
Rasta is watching you."

thats `Al Campbell - Rasta Time` ....mines on a blank, rkr quotes it as produced by Harold Butler and the matrix with HB seems to substantiate it was his release, it sounds like the same piece of the riddim to me, rkr also dates it to `74 but my copy has the original owners hand written date of 4.2.72 on it and i have no reason to dispute that.... its version side is a fairly raw bass and drum cut... the dub on backside of `Keep Your Dread` is what ephteeay has to look out for, but understand its a fairly subdued affair, no Tubby`s extraveganza !

Apparently Ken Boothe's Studio 1 version, now out on revive, has gunshot effects added on........

i have the big youth cut actually.. and love the dub...(its been repressed recently with the title "dread locks dread" on sunshot 7") but was wondering if there was a version without melodica & without any vocals (unless it was ken boothe's)


thanks all for the info.. ill have to look out for the al campbell version too!.. i only have the vocal on a cheap reggae hits compilation cd .. had forgotten about that..

If your are looking for a version without melodica and vocals 'Artibella' (SS 004 A / B) has a good straightforward version side.........no melodica, no vocals.

The current Ken Boothe cut on Coxsone UK has no version side and is backed with 'The Girl I Left Behind'

Just played the version (SS 004 B) to check and it does have a distant vocal on it...but it's way way back in the mix. This one is mainly organ drum and bass.
