heres what i got :
No information whatsoever on this singer, except for the obvious fact
that he sounds exactly like the late Dennis Brown and even carries part
of the prince's name! In my humble opinion he sounds wilder and tougher!
This LP was recorded in Miami Florida in 1981 and the backing was
provided by Fatman Riddim Section, which by this time no longer consisted
of Inner Circle or any other assembly of Ja artists, but of an unknown
group called New Breed, suitably renamed not to break the continuity with
a better known band name!
This album is really heavy! New Breed handles the ultra-slow rhythms with
majesty, and the horn section truly makes Babylon shiver and shake! I would
easily have rated it 5 stars out of 5, had it not been for the ridiculous
Reggae Music, another unnecessary ditty not adding any worth to the catalog
of roots music. To a lesser extent the same criticism goes out to Ain't It
Rockers, but perhaps I'm a bit allergic to these sing-along tunes. As it
stands it gets a strong 4 out of 5 since the remaining six songs are all HUGE!
Especially check out the lethal title track, recorded not long after the death
of Bob Marley well-known for having proudly driven a BMW - the ultimate
Bad Man Wagon!
Sleeve contains the following information:
Produced by Ian Lewis (bass player with Inner Circle), Touter Harvey,
Charles Farquharson (?) for I & T Production (Ian & Touter, my remark)
Executive producer: Ty Hutchinson
Special thanks to Fat Man Ridim Section for their fine work in preparing this
album Bad Man Wagon
Top Ranking International TRI-3243
hope this helps.
