Cloak And Dagger : Caveman Skank intro

Postby Nicholas » Sat Dec 18, 2004 12:13 pm

Lee Perry sampled more than once voices or noises from various sources... But on that particular tune (Caveman Skank) I'd like to know where he got that voice from. I heard it once on the France-Culture radio from the original record, but failed to get infos from them at the time.

Any idea someone ? I suppose it has to be an early seventies LP or something like that. I couldn't identify the language as well.

That sample was taken from a 'various sound sample' album. I don't know the exact title, but I remember it was full of samples, like horns, sirens, people talking, gunshots, etc.
The sample on Caveman Skank was titled "Bible Reading Cherokee Indian".
