As he should be - top man. That would have to be the Espy's first mention in the Observer eh Jesse?

Unfortnately I got there after your set but had a ball nonetheless, all suited and booted and pork-pied. I brought three mates from Sydney and both my brothers came too so we had quite a posse. I was knocked out by the MSO, that is some horn section. Thanks to Lloyd and Steve I got to hang out with Owen on the Monday and then interviewed him on the radio later in the week. I was buzzing for about a week afterwards. I heard the show with Bustamente down at Williamstown was a beauty as well, I'd like to see him up here in Sydney with them next time. When are you coming up here?

my set? heh heh...

I rocked up with two boxes of sweet vintage 7" singles... nuff Slim Smith, Cornel Campbell, Ken Boothe, Alton Ellis, etc... only to find no turntables or mixer. The Espy have their own DJ equipment, but it seems the organisers never thought to ask them to set it up. So, I just took it easy up the back with the dreads... :)

Saw your bro Mush (right?), dunno if he mentioned I said to say hi...

As for my next trip to Sydney... Lucius from Firehouse just rang me actually, and he's very keen for a clash, so we may be up there in a few months, dubplate box in hand...

respect,

Jesse
