In "Trench Town: Concrete Jungle, Kill or be killed" the author describes a song much played on Jamaican Broadcasting Company radio with the following lyrics supporting Michael Manley's new policies in the run up to the 1976 election:
"My leader born ya, my leader born ya,
no I na lef ya, no I na lef ya,
Hit dem wid Jamal, hit dem wid Jamal
and den yu hi dem with the free education,
hit dem with the free education.
Equal pay for women, equal pay for women;
hit dem with de minimum wages, hit dem wid
de minimum wages.
No **** no de ya again, no **** no
ya again, everyone lawful, oh yea, everyone lawful."
Anyone know the tune, or if it actually had a release?
