Wangla is a plant which is burned during obeah practices. Obeah is the form of voodoo used in JA.
Btw the arrangement on the Culture tune is awful. The words don't fit the riddim.

The Dictionary of Jamaican English suggests it's a word for sesame (Sesamum orientale), suggesting the Obeah practice relies specifically on this plant.
