Glen Washington Studio One riddim search

Postby Jah Rebel » Fri Jul 04, 2014 11:33 pm

Greetings,

Have just purchased a copy of Glen Washington's Studio One album 'Wandering Stranger' but can't place all the riddims used. Am still looking for the following:

Sweet Loving & Affection
Got To Be You
Never Let Go
Pressing On
I Choose Life

I'm sorry but I couldn't find any links where you could listen to these tracks, so am kind of dependant on people who own the album.

Ites,

In the end I found a link where you can listen to all of the songs except the last two (I own the CD version and the CD features two songs that aren't on the LP):

Inyaki,

Thanks for the help. I don't have the John Holt though... any other tunes on that riddim? I'm sure I have it somewhere...

Yms,

Thanks, strangely enough I don't own that Alton Ellis, so I'm still wondering where that riddim is hiding in my collection...

Leaves just Sweet Loving & Affection to be solved...

Iankou,

Thanks, but that's the 2012 revamp of the riddim I believe, does anyone know the original?

The first vocal cut was Ernest Wilson's "Why Oh Why" (Studio One 7"). The first DJ cut was Lone Ranger's "Noah And The Ark" on his debut Studio One LP. But the riddim is casually known as "Adam and Eve" because of a popular lyric General Echo used to toast on it when he DJ''d on Stereophonic Hi-Fi. He later recorded the tune on his LP "Ranking Slackness" (Techniques).

Finbar,

Thanks for that littlelast push, was that Lone Ranger tune I had in my collection... In most databases online riddim seems to be referred to as Why Oh Why.

Thanks again all for your contributions,
