Sad but i don't think there gonna be any vinyl unless other label will approach Shanachie & ask to license it for a vinyl release.

The third disc will contain “RARITIES” unreleased stuff, and some stuff that has been released but is very obscure. One track by The Prophets titled ‘Give Thanks and Praise’ I had never heard although the dub is on the Beware Dub release. I even asked Yabby and he didn’t remember. I found out through You Tube that Ton van Arnhem had it and he ended up gifting it to me which was just incredible and a really beautiful thing.”

Give Thanks & Praise was released on a Grove 12", maybe also released on BAF as a CD bonus cut...hope we gonna get some REAL unreleased tracks here, otherwise theres no reason for me to pull out my CD player from storage !

no disrespect, but i hope someone with a sense of what's truly rare & unavailable will advise this guy.
based on that interview, his conception is a little skewed...the junior brown tune and "give thanks and praise" are not very rare or hard to hear.

based on his comments it seems the selection will be a bit random.

what desperately needs to come out is the "oh city of zion" tune that tradition records posted clips of a while back...bad bad one.

yeah the give thanks and praise quote surprised me, it is a great tune but available on Grove music 12 without version but you can put with the beware dubwise. Its the Patrick Andy/Wayne Wade tunes that need proper release in my opinion.

the Patrick Andy stuff for Yabby should be its own LP...fantastic stuff.
there's some unreleased too, i talked to Patrick about it...he did a version of "what a sufferation" which is KILLER, a dubplate turned up on ebay once...might still have the clip somewhere, will post if i do...

A dubplate cut of the dub to "Give Thanks & Praise" was released sometime ago by Pressure Sounds on the Yabby You comp "Deeper Roots".

Can we hope for at least one single release of the Shanashie project? Never was a big fan of Yabby´s work past mid eighties (incl Fleeing From the City). Anything before that time is pure gold though.
