EBAY USERS - postage cost question

Postby ephteeay » Mon Dec 13, 2004 1:09 pm

i won a 7" on ebay and received an invoice which i thought was pretty shocking.. $14 postage for a 7" from usa!! isnt it a lot? i think thats a lot for a 12" too and have been used to paying $5 - 8 for a 7" unless its from jamaica where youll pay anything from 11 for 1 or 15 for 3... (and it comes registered) for 12"s i pay between $9 and $14.. just want your opinion on this.. (maybe i should have asked before buying but i never expected such high postage!!) thanks.

It's better to investigate shipping charges beforehand. Quite a few sellers try to make a profit from shipping anayway.

thats a real lot. i would assume it will arrive with about 8$ US postage on it for airmail, the rest is "handling" aka extra profit.

one love

As a comparaison, P&P from US to France for a LP or 12" is around 10/11$.

Perhaps you can find the website of US post service and check the actuall price? It would give you a "proof" to debate the right P&P price with the seller?
