Postby Chocolate Soldier » Sun Dec 29, 2013 10:29 pm

Sorry if news about this unwarper has already been posted,

Friend of mine said these guys in Amsterdam straightened out some extremely warped vinyl for them...
not 'perfect' but still 'very very good' was the verdict http://www.recordfriendamsterdam.nl/c-2 ... cht-maken/

The device used is this: http://www.furutech.com/2013/02/02/1790/

that's an expensive machine though.. worth it if you've got hundreds of warped records, I guess.

Hence the un-warping service offered by that shop in Amsterdam, for Eur 5 a disc, not including postage...
They say it takes several hours (!) per disc & claim a success rate of 95%

Too bad it won't work on warped 7"s. I tend to see a lot of 7"s with a nasty warp on only about 1" of the circumference of the disk, causing both sides to skip through the first rotations. Would love to be able to flatten these.

I've heard of people making flat plates, sticking records between them, and setting in the oven on low for a few hours (maybe not hours?). Seems to be similar to what this product does - http://www.vinylflat.com/vinylflatproducts.html
