Valid point: this LP is packed with killer tunes, even more so than his 'Tribal Ina Yard'-set, definitely one of my favourite reggae albums alltogether!

Harsh Words has always been my favourite of McKay's albums. Fantastic set from beginning to end. Fortunately a lot of the finest songs from it have seen releases as singles too. Some in different mixes but still great.

Not unless you sell them for £30 a piece

Just wondering how you can tell that it would not sell good enough to repress these tunes? What i mean is that they are all wanted tunes as you can tell just judging by the numer of people on discogs looking for them, and on another hand release unreleased tunes and be sure to sell them enough?

are there any obscure digital tunes on discogs with even 200 'wants'? i don't know that i've seen any with even 100 wants. in any case, that translates into record sales nearly the same way that youtube video views does...meaning, it doesn't.
uber obscure digital tunes that are "big" on youtube and discogs represents a fraction within a fraction within an already fractional market (reggae vinyl buyers --> people who buy represses --> people who want really obscure records). you can't sell a reasonably priced record when you're gonna sell 200 of something that you had to manufacture from scratch and pay a producer an advance for...

re: unreleased tunes
there's always a chance that they can flop, sure. speaking for myself, i've gotten probably a couple hundred unreleased tunes at this point, and i've released what, a couple dozen? you have to choose the ones that are really good (duh) but also have some cache to them, to make sure people are interested...whatever that maybe be...rhythm, artist, backing band, producer, etc...

I hope you are talking about my suggestions, dear rb, thanks by the way for another great year of releases. to me the invaders and jewels 7" are the best ones you ever did. (and that says a lot, doesnt it?)

have you ever thought about rocksteady reissues?
