Me never say Rasta is reggae, 'member? :)

To me, spirituality is everything that transcends mankind- that takes Man beyond his little physical self.

I'M just not feeling their sound.
I like the idea of artists mixing Hebrew writings & Rasta imagery in the music.

I was just thinking about things from way back when i was a teenager.
People would say......why don't you just listen to the music ?

I was heavily influenced by rasta inspired reggae.

Let my hair grow & eat ital, wore lots of Ethiopian colors & read scriptures. :)

That was a long time ago :)

I think it was ErnieB that included a couple of CD's with an order some years ago, on the Lion of Zion label, Christafari and Avion Blackman. Not my cup of tea really.

If your tastes extend to late 1990s dancehall you might want to investigate Beenie Man's "Gospel Time" (Shocking Vibes).

Don't really like that type of reggae sound either, enjoyed " Valley Of Decisions" from years back though.

Yeah the mix of the 2 cultures works well IMO.

As far as their sound goes I love it, they were really very impressive when I saw them live earlier in the year as well.

Junior Tucker, Judy Mowatt, Papa San Lieutenant Stitchie and Carleen Davis have also made a number of gospel tunes.

Below are favourites from Chakademus, Lukie D and Lady Saw

Chaka Demus - Chaka On The Move - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0essOBumPk

Lukie D - He'll Be (Leaving To Zion Riddim) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGl9bnSz4js (There is also a Junior Tucker version called Praise His Name)

Glory be to God - Lady Saw - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCJLVe_Mos0

And not forgetting the massive Marvia Providence - Hear My Cry Oh Lord
