Have the Delroy Williams 'Think Twice' 12" - side A sounds fantastic but side B (Babylon Boy) plays a bit wobbly like it was taken from a tape with a slight pitch drift, you can hear it on the sound clips. Still a worthy purchase & hope for more to come !

Just listened to 'Babylon Boy' again, and youre dead right, it is a bit wobbly, its most notable in the dub.
To be honest i bought that particular 12'' for the other side 'Think Twice'. I really dont like the lyrics and overall tone of 'Babylon Boy'. ' the lyrics are awful sh*te: ''white harlot burn....Babylon boy controlled by the white harlot, she corrupted the world with her fornication'' ......give me a break!

I'm not sure it was any different on the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHs5J9zP0Vk
That's just the way these came sometimes back in the day (speaking from experience) and was all part of the joy of collecting Ja vinyl.
Crimson Flames, I think the lyrics are basically a paraphrase of the book of Revelation where the Harlot of Babylon is taken by some scholars to refer to Rome and its corruption at the time. That Biblical interpretation also explains a lot of the polemics against Rome by Rastas.

Fair enough Mark, even still i have to say that its not a theme/metaphor that resonates with me very much. I mean, on the surface its racist slut shaming, beneath that its an allegory for the corruption of ancient rome. cant say that either way of looking at it particularly grab me. Add that to the wobbliness of the sound i dont think ill be drawing for that side too often!

Wait, that Jacob Miller tune is False Rasta, not Too Much Commercialization of Rastafari (aka Who Say Jah No Dread)! Right? What am I missing?? Confused. But I think this 12" is mislabeled.
