Sheila Rickards: Long mused mystery uncovered!

Postby Sir Bellyas » Wed Mar 27, 2013 8:28 am

Now at Dub Vendor, the long lost vocal to that amazing King Tubby's "Goldfinger" dub on the 1975 Striker Lee dub classic Creation Of Dub / King Tubby Meets Tommy McCook At The Dub Station LP that has had dub aficionados scratching their heads ever since... Only a few copies left, so don't tarry!

never heard of this, neither did I know the dub before... but the story seemed interesting enough to search for :D

I met up Chris Flanagan a few years a go whilst he was in Sydney...he told me about this tune he was trying to put out by 'Shella Record' which as stated in the article he was obsessed with, glad to see he finally got it out, pretty unique sounding tune!

20GBP for a new 10" seems rather excessive, must be made of that long life vinyl i was reading about, flecked with gold flakes you know

Yeah, a bit pricey. But a great song and story, worth buying imo. However, I didn´t really get if it´s "just" a repress from that Canadian 12" or a completely new production? Any ideas?

Originally released on a Canadian 33 rpm LP, not a 12 inch.. Exactly the same track.

Lovingly pressed and packaged piece of vinyl history.

Well worth it IMHO.
