I loved that album when it came out and most of it still sounds fresh to me. I have been a big On.U Sound fan for years. Sherwood has always pushed the envelope and worked with top notch musicians, often bringing out the best in them. He has also always upset the purists because he is an adventurer in sound. It's not all great, but when it is, there's nothing like it. He has worked with lots of people over the years and his work has many flavours. Watch out for Indigenous Resistance releases, he has featured on several of those recently.

Favourites? My fave On.U changes all the time. Here are some I would like to hear right now:

Harry Beckett - The Modern Sound Of Harry Beckett
Lee Scratch Perry - The Dubsetter
Unknown Cases - Masimbabele Remixes
Pay It All Back 2 & 3
African Head Charge - Songs Of Praise
Dub Syndicate - Classic Selections
Little Axe - If You Want Loyalty, Buy A Dog

pretty sure these are all available one way or another.

that he actually worked on, musically etc. or actually released? Hitrun, put out a ton of good tunes in the 70's. Big respect to adrian sherwood, seems he was on the pulse.

Had a little listen to some of the tracks on that lee scratch / dub syndicate album and don't really understand what there is to like about it. maybe I will grow into it.. actually quite like the 'sound' of it, but can't stand lee scratch's style then. I think mine and A2TJA tastes may differ - most definitely on yabby you and augustus pablo judging by recent threads..!

AHC - Songs of Praise
LSP - Time Boom X De Devil Dead
LSP - Secret Laboratory
Various - All the Pay It All Back's
Bim Sherman - Across The Red Sea
Bim Sherman - Haunting Ground (partial production)

Speaking of Adrian Sherwood, has that "Mind Control" song been released yet? It was featured early in the Boiler-room session.

I rate Sherwood very highly. In fact, I would say he's second only to Lee Perry as a producer when it comes to crafting a very distinctive and instantly recognizable sound. Dark, dread, heavy, straight from outer space.

Adrian Sherwood brought Tackhead sound system to Australia in the early 80's absolutely fantastic .quite like the Tackhead strange things lp and the Gary clail lp's. Gary clail also performed. This was around the time of the release of strange things. Also the Mark Stewart material has its moments.

I think this is the first thing I ever heard from the man. Still sounds amazing!

The end "suite" of tunes at the end of Ministry's "Twitch" is pretty awesome as well.
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

Mark Stewart on tour at the end of October, UK and Europe. Some dates also feature Dennis Bovell, Keith Levene and MC Brother Culture. 23 Skidoo on the bill for London as well. One for all the post-punk dubheads out there.

Both times I've seen Mark Stewart & Maffia (Pay It All Back tour ' 89 & with Tackhead & Audio Active in Auckland '96 or '97) they have totally cleared the hall.
They were excellent both times though.
