Tappa Zukie Black Ark

Postby curryman » Fri Sep 20, 2013 9:42 am

Hello

Can anyone advise me on works made by Tappa Zukie in Black Ark in the mid 1970's?

I know he cut Prince Allah "Bosrah" there as well as some tunes with Knowledge, such as Centry and Make Faith, as well as What's Yours.

But does anyone know what else he cut there, either by himself, Knowledge, or anyone else?

I have a tune called Bad More Than That by Musical Intimidators that I would like to discover more about and anything else he did really, as he is my favourite MC and a brilliant producer.

thanks in advance

Peace.

I think 'Bad More Than That' is a Channel One recording? As I have mentioned in the past, it sounds to me like the same horrible (imo) singer as 'Putto - Dear Jah' ... although yes, the riddim & Jammy(?) mix is great.. (Apologies for the question marks, they make me feel better in case I'm wrong about something  )

Thanks for that. I don't mind the vocal on Bad More Than That, though its not one of my immediate favourites

I prefer the Junior Ross & The Spears version of "Bad More Than That"

Junior Ross & The Spears

I haven't heard that, but would love to.

Do you know if he recorded them in Black Ark?
