What's the best Jacob Miller album?

"Who Say Jah No Dread" is really hard to find in an affordable hard copy. What other "Killer" Miller would you suggest for someone interested in Jacob's best work?

This one has some nice tracks like "Tenement Yard", "Healing of the Nation", "Roman Soldiers of Babylon" and "Shaky Girl".

the greatest hits lp is a really good set....then theres:
who say jah no dread
Killer Miller
wanted
lives on
Tenement yard( dread dread)

Most of Jacobs lps are nice..avoid the inner circle lps for the most part....mostly disco tracks or do overs! still not bad!!

I'd like to recommend a couple of his LPs:

I like the one called "Mixed Up Moods" and also "Jacob "Killer" Miller" - both records contain some truly wicked tracks like "Chapter A Day", "Mixed Up Moods", "Mr Officer", "Lamb's Bread Collie" etc.

I agree with you, Roman. Mixed Up Moods is very good and contains my favourite tracks Mr. Officer and Chapter A Day.
I also love the Tenement Yard album and the Who Say Jah No Dread album.
That would be my top three Jacob Miller albums in no particular order

Unlike previous posters, I dont rate "Mixed up moods" at all. If youre into 70´s roots like many on this board seem to, I wouldnt recommend it. But maybe thats just me, check youtube and form your own opinion.

My recommendations would be:

1. Who say Jah no dread
Top Pablo productions, not one weak track.

2. Killer
Top production, most tracks good, feat two of his best tunes:

Land called home

80 000 careless ethiopians
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM07dOxLJXw

(Also check BAF Innercircle CD Heavyweight dub, for great dub cuts.)

3. Tenament Yard
Feat two of his best tracks: 'Forward Jah Jah Children' and 'Roman Soldiers Of Babylon'. 'Truth has come again' is not bad either.

4. Wanted
Several great tracks on this, most notably 'Healing of the nation' and 'Standing firm'.

"Mixed up Moods" LP...

I still think it's a very nice LP but mostly for home listening because the sound on it is relatively tiny compared to the sound on, let's say "Who Say Jah No Dread" (I've already mentioned it in the Augustus Pablo thread). The interesting thing about "Mixed Up Moods" is the total (or almost total) lack of guitars on the album - even riddim guitar chops are missing. Or almost missing - can't remember exactly.

This should satisfy your needs...

Got many of the tunes mentioned, maybe missing one or two here and there you could source from some other place.

For dubs, the B&F set is pretty damn good.
