One of the most consistent labels I know, Roots Garden. They don't put out much, but I can only think of one or two that don't get much play. So much that I recently bought second copies of several cos the first were beginning to show their age!

Have you heard the Cate Ferris tracks, JB?

nope, just looked on ernie b and no love there

>on the same riddim & label - Dark Angel - People Come To / Manasseh - Version 7"

cant find that one either, looks like the hunt is on.

I did realize this label put out one of my fave johnny osbourne tunes from the past few years, black starliner, and I also have a ruben de silva cut (perfect peace and love I think its called) and a jah marnya (stormy weathers), also etherealites (el toro). I don't really recall any of those so maybe I wasn't too impressed but man that black starliner one I loved from the first I heard it.

thanks again all and any more pointers will be welcomed

ernie has three others not listed here including one cornel Campbell 10" but none of them really grab me from the sound samples...maybe they would grow on me though.

I just noticed that showcase EP and remembered I have both volumes, going to pull them out and give them a spin right now.

There's also a 10 inch on Roots Garden that came out a year or so ago, with two tunes by Bob Skeng called "Dancehall Something" and "Writings on the Wall". Beautiful vocals full of emotion, love it.
