dennis brown love jah - any other similar recomendation

Postby Turna » Sun Jul 21, 2013 1:10 pm

just got the repress 12" and absolutely love it, one of those tunes you can tell from the first few seconds that it is going to be awesome

can anyone recommend any other tunes from same era, same band, same producer or that just have that same vibe, not just d brown tunes but anything else with that same kind of vibe

ideally ones that are easy enough to pick up so repress is fine but also anything that is on that kind of level

thanks

Dennis Brown-Home Sweet Home / Ranking Joe-Zion High - same format & label

BTW both are not exactly represses as the vocal cuts were never pressed on 45 before...

the whole 'zion high' compilation on bloodandfire has a similar feel to it imo, and includes love jah.

it is pretty raw, but a missed opportunity given there are two 12"s (I think with the same dubs).

thanks for the tips, got the home sweet home 12" for £6.50 on the scotch bonnet website if anyone else looking for that which these days is a proper bargain price eh?

got the 'guidance' 12 already

'3 meals a day' is wickedtune too so will get hold of that for sure..

slavedriver is one of the best tunes ever made imho, love the dub version on the umoja album too
