rub a dub rebels -- africa (action 7")

this cut is sooo good. i'm sure it was included in one of my many ernie b "grab bag" purchases 15-20 years a go, meaning I got it for about 50 cents. he'd sell 100 random 7" for $50, and that's how I scored tunes like Chiba "evil men", stan ryck "easy mi yout", and a handful more serious tunes that fetch nice $$$. glad that even though I didn't appreciate the music at the time, that I still held on to them, because discovering their greatness later is fun. tastes change. it's been buried for years, as I never really checked for it, and now I can't believe how much I LOVE it!

I think ernie may still do the "grab bag" sort of thing, but I wouldn't go that route any longer. my guess is they'd be full of 90s-00s garbage singles. who knows, though...

I played this at a do on Saturday for a load of jungle DJ's and promoters, they loved this one nearly as much as Kenny Knotts' Look How The People Dancing :)

Dennis Brown - Breaking Down The Barriers, Natty Congo 12". Can't wait to play this one on a big system! Found a copy of Ranking Dread - Shut Me Mouth, Greensleeves 12" recently too which is on the same rhythm. Family Man on bass. Heavy!
