In europe,more and more shows of artists of lesser stature can easily reach around 30 euros.
It's true that there is a serious recession going on and it is not so easy for a number of reggae fans - or of any other genre, really - to fork out money as they could do before. On the other hand, boycott isn't a tradition in many european countries when it comes to expensive shows. There are certain scenes where such practice used to exist (too expensive ? just let's not go!) but not often seen such reactions in reggae circles.
On the other hand, JC with his current band must really be an act to watch. Some years ago,i couldn'thave cared less but since he released his Rebirth album,i would consider going. This is a tight band, with real roots, who can do as well on his crossover tunes.
Saw the video of their concert in Marrakech last year and it was mighty fine (let alone Reggae Night, which had the audience going crazy, but that's another story...

).
