I know, thanks Kalcidis, I'm blessed with a manic collector friend who regularily takes it to the UK and then generously shares his finds upon his return, and since he rigorously specializes in UK reggae I get to pick out his Jamaican 'leftovers' :o

:D Well, still lots of delicious stuff actually but as I said he's after the hard (to find) UK stuff (Talisman-Joshua Moses-Black Roots-Black Symbol-Sceptre...)

I'm in a city called Calgary right now which recently experienced major flooding in the downtown core and so I went to see if Recordland which is only a block or so from the river had survived. It had and I found Barry Bigg's classic lover's rock 'Wide Awake in a Dream' on Afrik 12" for $4. Total bargain.

Definitely Shadrach. I had it on an old David Rodigan tape and didn't really care for it at first but it kind of grew on me as I listened to the tape. When I looked at Tapir's site it is amazing how long that tune stayed in the reggae charts of the time, first as a pre 45 then as a disco mix. It must have been very popular.

Nice record, Mr T, and the subject of my first post on B&F back in early 2003 - as in the slightly tongue in cheek "is it OK to like 'Wide Awake In A Dream' and post on here?" It was, apparently
