after reading this thread purchased a Boss DE 200. Got it for 70£ and can't recommend it enough. sounds better than my space echo, and a LOT easier to get sounding good. Just as 'vintage'.. Very similar to the one used at bakery studio i realised as well.

I have an Akai head rush pedal at home, it's not cheap but it's got echo, delay and a looping function. The echo sounds great on it, lot's of parameters for tweaking so there's a whole range of different sounds you can get out of it. It's got a great high frequncy dampener so you can get some really old school decay on it.

No send return loop set up for it at the moment just running the siren into the pedal and then out of there in to my mixer.
