Record Stores - London

Postby Andy G » Sat Apr 13, 2013 2:37 am

Not planning on spending a lot of time doing record store runnings, but while in London this coming week (20 -28 April) any body suggest any spots if I am about that might have a gem or two?

Thanks

Have a look in Out On The Floor records if you plan on going to Camden Town. It is located on Inverness Street. You can't miss it.

Flashback in Angel has a selection of second hand stuff too. Not too expensive.

Reckless Records is good - I found five or six records off my wants list in there. Sounds of the Universe and Sister Ray are both within a couple of minutes walk as well. They are not dedicated reggae shops by any means but well worth a butchers.

lol on haggle. i found some proper bargains there (big digi tunes going for peanuts) but you have to spend time diggin. thats probably also when you left his shop after hours in with only a couple of digi 12" at 50p each that he think you and idiot. but an happy idiot indeed

last week, Flash Back had some interesting bargains on some modern roots. They bought a big collection of that style recently and they were crucial tunes in there.

And where is reckless records please? the name rings a bell but i am not sure i ever visit it.
Peace

Spitalfields market record fair (once or twice a month. don't know exactly when)

http://spitalfieldslife.com/2010/12/07/ ... talfields/

And don't forget to ask in stores what they have behind the counter. Usually the more expensive/rare items. Like with haggle. They have all the 7 inches behind in boxes arranged on price ( records less than 10 pound box, 10 to 20 box, 30 and up etc) , so you have to ask for it.

Meastro records peckham. found 2 copies of Arema - back a yard 12 " there not long ago.
thank you putting this on here- best reggae track ever, apart from most bob marley tracks
