I have one that I do not want to sell. On the cover it says: 20 COPIES ONLY
I wonder if that can be true.
How many of you own a copy? Any info written on labels or covers?

killer LP. here's how you can get it cheaply.

buy the I-Roy "musical shark attack" CD on Virgin, which is released in split stereo. mute the channel with i-roy. voila.

the dub LP is just the i-roy LP w/o the i-roy vocals, everything else exactly the same. i-roy just voiced over the dub LP.

we released two of the dubs from this LP on 7"s, the b-side to "oh marcus" & "tribute to marcus garvey" is one of them, the b-side to "sky juice and festival dumpling" is another.

more to come in 2013...

Was the Virgin LP in split stereo like the cd?

This is what my copy looks like:

Although it is clearly handmade, I could imagine that it was released this way, limited to 20 copies with this improvised artwork. That is why I would like know to if someone else got another cover like this...

Some artwork would have been nice I guess, but still definitely a rarity worth having.

Might try what RB suggested, although I am sure I will not get the same pleasure as I would spinning it.

Does anyone else think 'Musical Shark Attack' is yet another classic JA typo/spelling mistake, supposed to mean 'Musical Shock Attack'?

Amusing to see the version LP as 'Shark Dub'..

For the rest - gotta love the rare dub LPS ,but 20 copies? That takes the cake!

there is no way Virgin pressed 20 of something. there's prob 500 if not more, as it was a white label promo release.

Probably right. I've counted 3 already in this thread...

Until now I count only two, mine and the one from Rootsitup...

I looked at popsike and counted the number of transactions of some limited edition dub lp's:
tapper zukie in dub: 34 x
warikka dub: 33 x
prophesy of dub: 26 x
dub I: 10 x
sledghammer dub: 5 x
dub serial: 5x
musical dub attack: 3 x

I think there might have been pressed more than 20 copies, but still it must have been very limited. In more than 20 years collecting I have seen it only twice.
I can imagine that 'only 20 copies' applies for the ones that were released with this handmade covers.

Popsike is quite selective, not every auction makes the site. This one is more inclusive:
