Really too blown away for words. A serious brace DKR. They can not reach the shops soon enough in my book.

RB - will you be keeping the back catalogue of Digikiller releases available or will they go out of print after a while?
Cheers, Mark T

we try and keep them all available but for various reasons some cannot stay available indefinitely. right now all but 4 are available.

Rocks & Mountains!!! Awesome. Never thought I'd see the day. Any thoughts on who it might be? The Majesterians perhaps, they did Youthman around that time for Sly & Robbie.

No one knows for sure, its always been credited to them, just like From Creation was always , wrongly, credited to Junior Byles.

neither Sly nor any of the Channel 1 folks could remember the artist, and Sly was unaware of the Mighty Travellers, so i didn't want to wrongly attribute the tune. Majesterians is a good guess, though i'm more inclined to think it's a one-away artist that no one has heard of, just like the name of the guy who sang "warrior." 8)

RB,

I am curious what the connection is between the channel one release of McWoner's "higher region" and the Tribesman release attributed to Drummie Benji?

They sound like the exact same vocalist, but a slightly different mix - the McWoner having more of that distinctive early 80s channel one drum sound to my ears.

Anybody know anything?

Thanks

Horace Andy-"Why Oh Why".... deadly riddim!

What others came on this Channel One monster? I know of the Patrick Andy but would love to know what else is out there. Released that is.

it's the same song/recording, just different mixes. it's a Channel 1 prod. that was licensed to Coxsone. ditto the barry brown tune on the flip of that 12". not sure why the name of the artist was changed on the Tribesman release. Mac Warner/McWoner is the name he is known to others as, and released all his tunes under.
