i bought a copy of Bob Marley's Natty Dread on tape from a record fair and I am sure that it is a different mix to that on LP. I need to find that tape, in a box somewhere. Something to do with Island no doubt.

Plenty of other alternate mixes out there. Barrington Levy - stray away giril - stripped down version on the Prison Oval Rock (VP) album, but one with some good later overdubs on the time capsule LP, sounding like some kind of glockenspeil.

Morgan the Pirate - Stars 7" and Mobiliser 12" ("Olé" versions as I ended up calling them, with the Stars dub mix being different) and Federal Act 12" (more upbeat and, praise Jah, no "Olé" in it)

Yabby You & Horace Andy - Undivided World

Totally different mixes on the 7" & 12" - 12" has a more stripped down mix than the 7" (i think the 12" only came out around 2000).

Smoke The Weed - Frankie Jones (12" has got horns)
Shine Eye Gal - Black Uhuru (7" is different mix from album "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner)
Black History - Hopeton Lindo (12" has got horns, album version does not)
Rough Ole Life - Sugar Minott (7", 12" and album have got different mixes: 12" has got horns, 7" is dubbier than album mix)
Kingdom Rise Kingdom Fall - Wailing Souls (12" different mix from album)

i feel the dubs on both are the same, i had the 12" originally, and i bought the repress and it's the same Tubby's dub.

I misunderstood your original post where you gave chester coke as an example of diff.mixes on 7 & 12.
the dub on the weedbeat 7" is called shot from the pistol and is the original ja. 7". Fairly dry mix with loud spring reverb crashes.
It then came on a ja. 12.the dub on the observer 12" is a killer extended king tubbys mix.
the dub on the recent observer 7" repress is taken from the observer 12" i think.

The b side to Pablo's Theme Song (called Tubby's Dub Song) seems to have two slightly different Tubby's dubs with one being more phased.

Both on original 'Pablo Intl' label but with different matrix numbers.
