Good stuff, thanks, although these actually aren't the ones I was after.
The dubs on the tape are of a slightly different style, more typical dubwise style, echoed to oblivion.
I guess they could be Fatmans own dubplates which may explain why no one has copies. Shame really. The Jahovia mix is far better than the released 12, as is rasta pon top.
I'll keep searching and let people know if I find them.
The Twinkle dubplate I'm waiting for goes something like 'Theres Room In Zion For Everyone', maybe it's called Repent?
Sorry if I am off the subject but I think thats a killer Twinkle Brothers Dub Plate.
I'm glad everyone like these. Listened to them for the first time in a long time and I must admit there's some awesome dubs on that one (and alternative cuts with vocals!).
The Rasta Pon Top 12" mix is really wicked. Would love to hear the dub you speak of.
If anyone is interested in the 12" with Rasta Pon Top PM me and we can sort something out. I've got a spare copy still sealed.
I'm still on quest for "Famine" tune from Twinkle that i have only hear shaka play on dubplate from early/mid 80's.
Probably one of the hardest twinkle i have personally ever heard, next to the "Faith can move mountain" tune where Shaka has the vocals of Marcus Garvey & Martin Luther King mixed in the track.
Emma wrote:If it's the vocal cut to Famine you're looking for then you can find it on Kilimanjaro album. But the dubcuts I think are Shaka exclusive mixes.
Respects
Yeah have the vox for a while but never had the dub mixes.
