Black Man & M Palmer 7" Query

Postby Jackie Pablo » Wed Jan 19, 2005 6:40 pm

Anyone here know anything about these two obscurities?

'Keep The Collie Burning' / 'Version' - Black Man (Volcano)
Soundwise it does not sound like a Junjo. The title is hand written on the label. "Keep the collie burning in this winter wonderland"

'Reality' / 'Version' - M Palmer - Prodical (Roots Vibration)
Quality killer roots in a Burning Spear stylee. Produced by M Palmer & arranged by Steam Pidgin.

Thanks

M Palmer - could he be one of the Palmer brothers (Jr. Ross & The Spear) ?

You could be right about that skunkride, especially with the very strong Burning Spear influence in sound and name.

There is also a Michael Palmer (aka Palma Dog?) who cut the wicked 'Smoke The Weed' at Channel 1 and 'Lick Shot' for Powerhouse, but this singer is probably not related to Junior Ross & The Spear.
