That Life In The Ghetto is such a killer! Heard it on a soundtape with Jah Observer a while ago and have been searching for it since that. Thought it maybe was a dubplate.

Thank you soooo much RB! Don't know how else to say it!

Question... what is the source of the recordings? Your answer will be good enough for me. Just curious as sometimes it's stated in your blog, but not this time.

nothing to explain really, we chose to put the Bees tunes under the Bond Export (BE-) catalog, rather than DKR catalog (DKR-). personal reasons that don't bear public explanation.

BE-001 thru BE-003 are the 3 Freddy McKay tunes on Earthquake.

Andrew Bees on NNM is BE-004 and BE-005. will be more BE- titles in the future.

these New Name Muzik tunes were in the works for a really long time, very satisfying to have them see the light of day finally.

next months tunes are ready to go, September is gonna be big!

forward ever...

Thanks RB.

I asked cause I have a document which lists your releases which is listed by the DKR number and I tick them off when I get the ones I wanted. The change in cat no and that one of the NNM is on DKR and the other 2 on BE I thought unusual. All makes more sense now as I hadnt seen the earthquake releases I can put them together.

Look forward to sept and seeing what comes next..

Yes I'm also curious as to the source for the same reason. RB?

the kush dan i 7" looks very identical to the original because we printed the labels in Jamaica using the original films from 1982. the only difference is that we edited the left-side text to remove the previous "Distributed by Tuff Gong" credit, and it's changed to "Dist by Deeper Knowledge, Brooklyn NY"

orig = tuff gong
repress = deeper knowledge

hope that helps. the canadian 12" on unknown soldier label is a pirate issue according to the producer. that's all i know about it.
