Nice software for vinyl restoration

Postby Mick Sleeper » Thu Feb 11, 2010 5:40 am

I needed to clean up some vinyl and discovered this nice program called AudioLava, so I thought I would spread the word. It filters out pops and crackles in vinyl and does a pretty good job. I found that some EQ-ing was necessary at times, as the program sometimes can "take away" a bit of the music when it's removing the surface noise, but for the most part it works great. Free to try for 30 days, then a mere $24.95 to buy. I'm sure there is better software out there for this job, but I haven't found it yet!

Hear for yourself. The record in question is Roman Stewart - Rain A Fall:

Another nice little program doing a great work on most of the files I've tried it on. Works on both Mac and PC. Also free to try.
