hear you on both counts Mick.

the 'Ash Oil' set appears to be getting some response (sales).

it took me a couple listens to like this Tanya Stephens. also got the Turbulence cut to the same riddim and don't think it will see much use...

have to add

luciano "dancehall style" (jammys)
- this is one for the ages

also the revive rub-a-dub singles from dynamite (clive jarrett/ita yetta)

clarence parks "gunman"
al campbell "bad boy"
welton irie "put it down" -- all three same riddim, all killers.. maybe the best welton ever

little john "spin yu roll"
lone ranger love affair"
yellowman & peter metro "the girl is mine"

regarding the list posted above.. was hoping for some response/comments..

anyone know any more about hopeton junior? i just know of a few tunes like "reward" from channel one.. is he still working? how recent is the jazzbo tune (above)?

fantan mojah -- wicked tune.. downsound has come a long way since lukie d's "platonic". fantan has it on this tune.. love that ken boothe influence!

kush i -- nice voice. only had a single from glover "pon dem corner" prior to this.. don't think he;s cut a lot of tunes. this one is a nice relick of 'freedom blues' and a good vocal showcase for him.

daville -- the 'slow bounce' is my favorite bashment thing to hit for months.. couple a good tunes in it but the hook from this daville is like crack -- one taste and i'm hooked.. rewinding again, playing at max pressure

anyone have anything to add about any of these artists/tunes?

All those Dynamite re-isues are killers of there day and well worth picking up. The Welton is good but not his best imo. I got em all too, great stuff.

Check for the "Sun is shining" riddim on the Big League label. MAN, awesome, Abijah, Richie Spice, Chuck Fender et al. MURDeeeee
