Wow - Just bumped into this post.

DJ Derek was a top man, I DJ-ed 'against' him & Rubber Ranx at The Hub Club in Bath on Xmas Eve about 10 years ago, when I lived in Bath. Both are / were formiddable 'opponents'.

He was a torch carrier for the music during the dark years, supplied records to all & sundry (I have a couple of LPs in my collection purchased direct from him) & will be missed sorely, particularly in his home city of Bristol.

Maximum respect & a significant loss.

Very sad news. Maybe everyone should contact the BBC and ask them to repeat the programme as a tribute? I would really like to see it again.

There has been no mention on the local news of the man's departure I would quite confidently say he is still with us and long may he be so.

ok Charlie Reggae, this is getting a bit weird
1st of all we met like 15 years ago when Skaville Train played my local
2nd I read your Martin Campbell book again recently, & saw BMD & I mentioned in the thanks, very nice mate
3rd you played @ The Hub in Bath, which used to be my regular
4th you live in Wantage, which is where I was born
i think this may be karma's way of telling you to
SEND ME ALL YOUR ROCKSTEADY RECORDS IMMEDIATELY !!!
