When it's not reggae, it's usually:

Jazz, preferably the late 50s early 60s sound (I mostly play my Blue Note albums)
Hip-Hop in style of Arsonists, Roots, Pharcyde, Black Star, Blackalicious etc.
Soul & Funk in styles of Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Maceo Parker etc.
Punk in style of Descendents, Bad Religion, All, Down By Law etc.

Or maybe something else from the 60s & 70s (my dad's influence) like the Stone, Beatles, Creedence, Bob Dylan, Neil Young etc.

There's SO MUCH good music out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kerazor? Confused ?

Yeah. I imagined that the 'ke' was superfluous with the emphasis on 'razor'.

I always thought that Mr Brown was suggesting that although he doesn't do martial arts, he could still cut you up pretty bad with his razor.

I could be wrong though. I'll have to spin that when I get home now.

Still...........there are worse chores I can think of.

That's a GREAT song there C.D. , as a matter of fact I love that entire album The Payback. My favourite James Brown album together with Hell.

Very much in line with everyone else, deep soul, classic jazz, african, latin, AND...

Camper Van freakin' Beethoven!!!

While I mostly listen to Black music, I've lately been picking up Fairport and Pentangle stuff..."Sweet Child" is incredible.

Beatles outtakes...and re: Temptations/ N. Whitfield, their stuff is inspired in great part by Funkadelic and Sly Stone.

Almost forgot the DFA dance/punk thing, a revival of early 80s punk/funk.
