Well the joy was terminated prematurely anyway cuz the missus called & I had to whiz over to the playschool to pick up the wee one..

And on the way back - who should be just pulling up to the door of chez choco? General Parcel with my latest Dub Vendor order! Whooo baby!

DEB 'Don't wanna be no General' 12 (sorry BAF but its the vinyl collector in me) currently on the hifi at subdued volume...

A few more minutes before the inevitable happens - my kid cancels my tune selection to put on her own selection: kids music like Raffi / Belgium's finest K3 or some BobMarley perhaps

£6 at Dub Vendor but it appears there out of the good ones. BADDA are gonna make a killing of these re-issues.

I won't be buying any of those DEB 12"s, I'll stick to buying releases where contracts have been signed and people(or in this case the widow of the person) have been paid.

It is a grey area me thinks Gordon. If they are bogus why are Dub Vendor, EB et al stocking them. I dunno but I do know that there are all damn killer chunes.

Actually I'm a bit of a hypocrite as I snap up those reggae/soul/hip hop refixes as soon as I can and nobody gets paid there.

But I'll pass on these 12"s still........

>>If they are bogus why are Dub Vendor, EB et al stocking them

1. because they make money out of it (ernie b / dv is a business.. their mission is not only to please us.

2. why do they sell so many other bootlegs?
e.g. all the attack/observer/gold releases and probably tens of other labels that probably havent payed a cent to anyone?

i would prefer if everything was legit.. but its not gonna happen. you cant (unfortunately) think about this everytime you want to buy a record. especially when they've used original labels, cover designs!! y.. its a shame that some businessman/thief is making money from something thats not his...but maybe it can be a lesson to those who are reissuing things to do a similar job.. (not saying they have the money to do this everytime but its a guarantee to success i think!) (original tracklisting, cover, label...its what id do if i could reissue/when i do reissue..i'll even get the labels stuck off centre.)
