Fadeaway came out of Channel One studio - can't remeber who produced it (may have been Byles himself), but nothing to do with Perry

Not sure about the date (early - mid 70's?) but if Junior Byles 'Fade Away' is an original it's a Joe Joe production at Channel 1 according to the Eagle label (UK).

I've two dates for 'Drifter'

1971 from Trojan LP
1974 from Cactus 7"

who knows, one of these dates might be right.

'Drifter' is 1969 built by Harry Mudie at Studio One

'Fade Away' is produced by Jo Jo arranged by Chinna in early Channel One days

Drifter came in the UK on the B side to GG Grossett's Run Girl Run on the Crab label. Don't know if that precedes a JA Moodisc issue, but I thought it did. If anyone has a spare original copy..................

An interesting note about 'Drifter' being recorded at Studio 1. This was supposedly recorded the same morning/session as The Abyssinians 'Satta Massagana' (aka 'Satta Amassa Gana' or 'Satta Massa Gana').
