Hail up Aretha

My lord, what a loss.
The media cup is running over with superlatives about her career, but for once they are right.

Instead of watching the Obama video like 50% of humanity did yesterday :D - tell me, are there any reggae covers of Aretha Franklin songs? And do you know a female reggae singer that can match her vocal range?

While I would say that Toots is the reggae equivalent of James Brown or Otis Redding, I don't think that any female reggae singer even comes close to Aretha. She was a force of nature without parallel.

Janet Kay's vocal gymnastics were incredible but I'd compare her to someone like Deniece Williams rather than Aretha.

Thanks Tune In 2!
Lots of lovers...didn't know any of them. Didn't even know Rocksteady by The Marvels was an Aretha cover.
