other tunes from the 80's/90's in the same style from JA?

some kind of a mix between raggamuffin and steppers rhythm. two examples, both tunes by gregory isaacs. doesn't really have to be from jamaica only but you get the idea...

Lost me Capullo, are you looking for tunes like the two you posted or something in between them? Rankings replies confused me even more...

that kind of style. ranking dread brought some nice examples. raggamuffin snare on top of a 80's/90's steppers drum, made in JA. not so easy to describe.

All of the gussie clarke music work studio's has a distinctive sound as in the samples above
Check his anchor and music works labels, also paul lindsay & mikey bennets two friends tec at gussie studio

Also redman international ie dave Bailey runnings
Jammys Admiral tibet victim of babylon
George lemons photopraph label carl meeks bad minded people

Alao dimanond nitty gritty dollars and sluggy ranks cociane ruff riddim from 92

Not sure if gregory isaacs rumours been mentioned also on music works or greensleeves 12
Plenty of thet era that followed the digi sound of 87/88 which then lead to xterminator sound of 94-97
All of them gussie clarke tunes mixed by Steven stanley in the doco he stayes he had the top musicians and engineers

Ed robinson slaughter and ruff neck sound also eek a mouse rude boy gone a foreign on mango 12

Wicked era what your talking about,

I remember playing in an eithiopian restaurant in Melbourne and play just gussie's music which wasn't the style in melbourne then then night was a good night

Nathan Skyers’ recently repressed “Salute To The Heroes” seems to fit in your description.
Big Tune!

yes ZionRootical, it's mainly a gussie clarke thing. another tune in the same vein is king kong's "he was a friend"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22mx2b_Oedc

and there is a quite recent production from geneva (2011) i really rate highly by murray man - especially the version on the flip side of this 7¨

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvxWWYaDPFU

still have to check your suggestions.

thanks!
