Yabby You, Michael Prophet, Scientist @ Dub Station reissue

https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/12159729?ev=rb . As Buyreggae are one of the distributors, it seems safe to assume that they have more than one copy.

If they used the 90s CD, the mixes of this reissue are different from the first press. see this thread:

You can get some more info about the release by clicking on "More images" at top left below the sleeve pic on the Discogs page. It says it was taken from the 1991 Yabby U label issue, and helpfully includes the original tracks for the dubs.

PS According to a German site: "Includes Free Digital Download Code Of The Entire Album! Random Colored Vinyl Edition!". https://www.vinyl-digital.com/en/Exotic ... Vinyl.html . I haven't seen it on any UK sites yet.

Would be a pity to have this forum closed & all the info gone...

It doesn't really work like that, what you get there are snapshots of that particular page (the "General discussion" frontpage), if you then click on threads they may or may not also have snapshots of their pages (mostly not).

The whole of B&F is up apart from the past 2 or 3 years which needs updating by anyone. When a page shows that is not saved it can be saved on that page by saving the URL link. Time to start filling in the missing gaps.

I do know how the Wayback Machine works. People better start saving threads that have not been saved.

I'm on a Mac OSX and used a site sucker program which downloaded the entire site to my hard drive.
The problem however is that the search function does not work - you cannot do a search. All the pages are on my hard drive however just not searchable.
I emailed the developer and he said that currently his program does not have that functionality. If I understood him correctly the way the search function works is that on a search the query is sent back to the up and running B&F server and then the results come back down via the inter webs.

Has anyone used a Windows site sucker program which will allow a search function?

Dub Vendor on the Dub Station LP:

Confusing "reissue" of the 1991 UK release of Yabby U's 1981 Jamaican pressed album of the same title. But it doesn't appear to in fact be quite the same album as either of those. There are full vocals to Prophet's awesome Shaka favourite Gates Of Zion, which is extended by two dubs, worth it for this alone, and two full vocals from Patrick Andy and Alric Forbes, none of which were on the original issues. All good stuff still, but not quite what it says it is on the tin.

Confusing language on the dv review. That's a straight reissue of the "confusing" 90s rrelease. Essential buy for those who don't have it. Killer

I compared this reissue and it seems to be identical to the 1991 release. The '91 edition looks like this.

A-side
Michael Prophet – Gates Of Zion (Vocal)
Michael Prophet – Gates Of Zion
Michael Prophet – Man Of Experience
Michael Prophet – Know The Right
Michael Prophet – Roots Man Time

B-side
Michael Prophet – Step Right In / Fight It To The Top
Michael Prophet – No Friend In This Time
??? (Wayne Wade - Willow Tree according to Discogs notes)
Patrick Andy – Every Tongue Shall Tell
Alric Forbes – Jah Know It's True (Vocal)

The 2018 reissue looks like this (according to the notes on Discogs):

Side A
Michael Prophet - Free Up Your Heart (Dub) – Guessing this is extended. Gates of Zion under different title.
Michael Prophet - Man Of Experience (Dub)
Michael Prophet - Know The Right (Dub)
Michael Prophet - Roots Man Time (Dub)

Side
Michael Prophet - Fight It To The Top (Dub)
Michael Prophet - No Friend In This Time (Dub)
Wayne Wade - Willow Tree (Dub)
Patrick Andy - Every Tongue Shall Tell(Dub)
Alric Forbes - Jah Know It's True (Dub)

Anyone that has heard the Wayne Wade vocal before? Never heard or seen. That rhythm also turn up on one of the other variations of the album. In one of the other threads Ranking Sammy thinks it might be an unreleased tune from a Wayne Wade session which sounds most likely to be correct. I wonder where the reissue label got the info from that it was Wayne Wade though. Because either it confirms the suspicion or they simply came across this thread and pulled the info without verifying.
