Why are there not many replies on bloodandfire forum?

Postby jah_vaults » Wed Feb 21, 2018 12:27 am

If you look at the counts on how many people have viewed the thread there are actually not as many replies.

Some of the threads have a few hundred or even thousand views but the replies are very few.

Why would this be?

Makes me think there still trolls on this site making it seem as though the threads are constantly being visited.

There should be a lot more replies and comments judging by how many so called users are visiting the threads etc

Always been this way - many people (myself included) are readers more than commenters, or else simply don't have anything pertinent to add to the topic...

Perhaps people are afraid of being berated, savaged for putting a comma in the wrong place or being psycho analysed by novices if they respond?

I think a lot of the threads these days are either:

really specific ("what can you tell me about the twelve inch of x release on y label?")

or really generic ("let's do a thread about every single song about food").

The specific stuff most people won't be able to reply to, the general stuff isn't really that interesting (to me anyway, it's cool if other people are into it).

Personally I'm not that interested in new releases these days either, or actually represses/re-releases come to think of it. So my excitement about the music has dwindled a bit.

I still find things of interest here, but I don't have much to say.

"Oh no reggae sounds awful like horses hooves". The 3 Degrees when asked if they like reggae.

New reggae sounds more like horses hooves on a digital mouse.

I have a simple reason not to be here very often - after 20 years of reggae message boards, I'm finally taking my own advice of turning off my computer and turning up my stereo instead!

I used to check the board sat at a computer . . Often listening to records or YouTube links :)

Now I've got a daughter and I generally check the board on a tablet, which I find exhausting to type on

Plus all the reasons above :|

Meanwhile, I can't be doing with any typing at all on a tablet, unless I absolutely have to.
