Origins of Songs

Apparently Mortimer Planno wrote Satta Massagana. Josie Wales wrote Under Mi Sensi. Sort of makes sense because it could have easily been him deejaying those lyrics rather than Barrington Levy singing them.

Any other well known tunes written by unexpected people?

Adding or suggesting a couple of sentences is not writing or composing....even the vocal melody can be reused again and again ( if that was the case pretty much every reggae artist has 'written' most tunes) Apart from the lyrics there are chords changes, riffs and melody motiffs, basslines, drum patterns, arrangements.

Under Mi Sensi didn't require much composing!
It's just lyrics that Josie Wales would have probably ended up deejaying.
