Postby Jah Rebel » Wed Sep 13, 2017 2:23 pm

Bless all,

Can anyone help me find out the originals of the dub versions on the new 'Waterhouse Dub' release by King Jammy?

I haven't listened to this one much yet but here's what I've got...

1: Riddim "Please Officer". Version of "Please Officer" Earl Zero. Vocal.
2: Riddim "World A Music". Version of "Boom-Shack-A-Lack" Junior Reid. Vocal. DJ intro.
3: Riddim "Hunts Bay"?. Version of "Jail House" Junior Reid. Vocal.
4:
5:
6:
7:
8:
9: Riddim "Darker Shade Of Black".
10: Riddim "Drum Song". Vocal.
11: Version of "Waterhouse" Mighty Rudo. Vocal.
12:
13: i love you girl?. No vocal. (Pad Anthony - Girl I Love You - but no horns here)
14: Riddim "Sun Is Shining". DJ intro.
15:

I'm pretty sure that track 13 appears on "King Jammy - Dub Explosion" [Jamaican Recordings [2007] JRCD025] as "I Love Dub".

Greetings,

Track 14 is an edit/remix of the dub of Delroy Wilson's cover of 'Sun Is Shining'
released in 1979 on "Prince Jammy Vs Crucial Bunny – Fatman Presents Dub Contest"
and as 'Shining Dub' in 1991 on "Fatman Presents Unleashed Dub From King Tubby's Studio Vol. 1"
Track 15 is Junior Reid's 'Higgler Move' in dub.

Peace
dj
