Bim Sherman

Re: inyaki's post, one can be spiritual and still be hard to work with.

Of those listed, at least by reputation, I would say Yabby You would be close to the most spiritual of those named.

I know that some of these artists have their faults but who are the ones who will always be Rastas and will never change? Several artists over the years started out preaching Rasta but they are now on a different path.

Ras Michael is a great example of someone so engrossed in Rasta that he couldn't possibly be anything else.

Brethren RG ... In the other current topic "What's The Difference" in regards to weighing the Spiritual element into the evolution of the sound, u say

So as well as updated instruments, studios / equipment, arrangements and more confidence, there's a metaphysical element that can't be defined.

Please then clarify what u saying on this 'Most Spiritual artist" topic

Ras Michael is a great example of someone so engrossed in Rasta that he couldn't possibly be anything else.

Are you speaking about Ras Michael's human psychology or his Spiritual frequency? ... which according to your previous comments is impossible to define. Either way I'm sure Ras Michael would have an interesting response.

re: Spiritual define-ability or non-define-ability ... perhaps we can find common ground in this:

HOPI INDIGENIOUS Teaching

Do not look outside yourself for the leader ... There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly. ... The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration ... We are the ones we've been waiting for."

The Holy Bible tell us the same ting: "The kingwize of Heaven is within" ... Look into yourself

Yes JB ... Yabby You ... BE YOU

I find artists of faith fascinating probably because I don't have much myself. There is also something very compelling about their music although it's often completely at odds with my logical and analytical mind.

Yes, I know this is a contradiction which doesn't make any sense.

For me, the JA artist who is totally convincing on record that they are channelling something deep and spiritual is... Junior Byles cf 'The Long Way'.
Cheers!

Wow Capullo.
This is great.
Good question (by Fourtet for those familiar with his music) and a great answer by Brian Eno

Yes, also "Remember Me". I find it quite haunting.

I always use the Record Collectors Grading system for rating spirituality. Augustus Pablo, Yabby You and Burning Spear are all Mint condition.

I quite like this post above because it pretty much sums up my personal view as well. I'd however say I'm spiritual but have no faith (in the religious sense) at all.
