Bob Marley Exodus - poll

Postby guillaumebougard » Fri May 19, 2017 7:01 pm

I've been asked to interview Ziggy Marley and write an article about EXODUS and rather than writing the 1509th review of this album, I've asked people and musicians and so forth to tell me about the album

I'm also asking them what their 3 favorite songs are, and I thought I might ask the participants of this forum the same question and compile the results

So I'll get the ball rolling and will vote for (in no particular order)

Natural Mystic
Jamming
One Love

thank you

Natural Mystic (no better album opening !!!)
Guiltiness
The Heathen

I would have chosen Jammin' and One Love 12" versions, but the LP versions are a bit lightweight to my ears.

which musicians have you asked and what did they have to say about it? I'm particularly interested in Sly & Robbie's opinion. And what about their current (Reggae) horn section, didn't some of these guys even play on "Exodus"?

Musicians, engineers and producers include Cat Coore, Brinsley Forde, Sly, Robbie, Carlos Santana, Ziggy Marley, Godwin Logie, Steven Stanley, Bitty McLean, Dennis Bovell

I need to call Karl Pitterson and some new artists but I keep forgetting

Vin Gordon played and arranged horns on Exodus.
Tyrone Downie and Familyman were crucial.

It tends to be forgotten that Exodus is....the biggest UK Reggae album ever!
Sounds like London reggae, the mix, the guitar pedals, the whole vibe, etc....
