Just heard he has departed this world. Hope it's not true but he has been very sick for a long time. So much respect for one of my favourite artists.

His death was falsely reported previously but I'm pretty certain it's true now because I've heard from a couple of different sources.
I'll always remember his abundant energy, positive spirit and fantastic voice. As I've said before, he would have been a super star with the right support and management.

R.I.P. Frankie...

One of those select few singers where I could enjoy everything he did just because that voice was so great.

I thought he was living in Ghana because he was accused of certain things by the public in Jamaica?

He moved to Gambia at some point, not sure if he still lived there.

R.I.P. Great artist - wonderful voice.

He'd been living in Gambia since the nineties.

god bless frankie paul -- his suffering is over.

i've seen a lot of re-posting of this interview with him, mostly on facebook, so i thought i would share it here.
this is an interview we did with frankie in february of 2015.

we had very little time to prepare for it, but you just don't pass up a chance to chat with a true legend of his stature as you never know if the chance will come around again.

this interview we did is quite easily my most treasured and favorite show in almost 30 years of broadcasting reggae music. his joy for this music made it so playful and enjoyable -- zero stress or nerves. he is an entertainer's entertainer.

this interview clearly shows his genius, his talent, his powerful vocals and also his gargantuan sense of humor & fun. please check it to get a sense of what i mean...

RIP paul blake aka frankie dancehall paul.
